THE STORY BEHIND THE GRAPHIC
More than a concert.
The first US Festival took place September 3–5, 1982 at Glen Helen Regional Park near San Bernardino, California. Built around Steve Wozniak's vision and produced with concert promoter Bill Graham, the event paired a major music lineup with technology and communication exhibits — an ambitious idea for its era.
THE IDEA
Music. Technology. Community.
The festival was conceived as a meeting point between music, emerging technology and a more community-minded culture. Across three days, new wave, rock and California festival energy shared the same stage with some of the defining names of the era.
“Wear the memory of a weekend built around sound, connection and the belief that music could bring people together.”
