The history behind the shirt

When Music Met the Future

The US Festival was more than a concert. It was an early-’80s experiment in music, technology, scale, and togetherness.

California, Memorial Day Weekend, 1983

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak helped launch the US Festival as a massive gathering built around a simple idea: move the culture from “me” toward “us” by bringing people together through music and technology.

The 1983 edition took over Glen Helen Regional Park near San Bernardino, California, with three genre-driven days across May 28, 29 and 30, followed by a separate country day on June 4.

The bill reads like a time capsule: The Clash, Men at Work, INXS, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, U2, Stevie Nicks, David Bowie and many more. This tee channels that larger-than-life weekend without pretending to be an original 1983 garment.

May 28 — New Wave Day The Clash, Men at Work, Stray Cats, INXS and more.
May 29 — Heavy Metal Day Van Halen, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne and more.
May 30 — Rock Day David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, U2, The Pretenders, Joe Walsh and more.
Why the design matters

More Than a Band Tee

Every side carries a different part of the story, making the shirt feel like a wearable festival poster.

01

The Front: Pure Festival Energy

The exploding guitar, bright color, water splash and retro “US ’83 Festival” artwork capture the rush of a giant outdoor show at full volume.

02

The Back: “Together”

“Today • Tomorrow • Together” echoes the event’s community-minded ideal, surrounded by the names that made the weekend unforgettable.

03

The Feeling: A Time Capsule

It is made for people who collect stories, remember the era, discover old records, and still believe music is better when it is shared.

Three days. Three moods.
